Response to Fandom Problem #4669 : Listen anyone with a problem with non-black ocs having dreads or braids are usually Americans who don't know how the world works outside of the US. Do you know how many stories I've heard and videos online of people from like Jamaica and Africa braiding everyone's hair because they love to SHARE that culture? America is supposed to be a melting pot of cultures but a lot of Americans do not understand that outside of the US culture (Yes we have culture) people are much more happy to share and enjoy their culture with others.

Sure you can make the argument straight hair might not be able to handle the braiding as well as coiled hair. But to be honest that's not up to you what people do and as long as the design is not being racist there is no issue.

And lets be real braiding was in EVERY culture at some point. It's a very obvious style idea for long hair. It's not like a sacred outfit or a Native American headdress.

It's hair.

Posting since this is a response to a previous problem.

that’s because blacks americans are really just americans….they don’t know african culture….if you’re actually raised in that culture you feel secure that’s your own, you don’t see the point of constantly looking for a weapon in culture wars
